High Holy Days
Sunday, September 29, 2019 • 29 Elul 5779
7:30 PM - 10:00 PMTemple Israel SanctuaryOn Sunday evening, September 29, we will join together to celebrate erev Rosh Hashanah. It is our tradition at Temple Israel to welcome the New Year with a reception after the service where we can all exchange holiday greetings with one another.
In order to make this special occasion a success, we need the participation of the entire Temple Israel community. We are asking each of you to bring something to share with your fellow congregants as follows:
Last name beginning with:
A – D: Fruit (other than apples) or nuts
E – J: Sliced cake or cookies
K– M: Savory treats such as vegetables and dip or cheese and crackers
N - T: Soft drinks, such as sparkling water, juice, iced tea, etc.
V – Z: Sliced apples and honey
Please bring enough for six to eight people. You may bring it when you arrive for the service, or leave it in the kitchen earlier in the day.
Flowers are an important part of making the temple welcoming and festive for the High Holy Days. Please consider making a donation to the Mary Gold Flower Fund to help beautify our shul. Donations can be made on the Temple Israel website (http://www.templeisraelalameda.org/) or sent directly to the temple office.
With your help, we can continue having this wonderful erev Rosh Hashanah reception and beautify the bimah for all to enjoy.
L’shanah tovah!
