Temple Israel is a welcoming center of Jewish life where members, newcomers and visitors of all ages and cultural backgrounds are encouraged to participate in Jewish practices, spirituality, learning and culture. We continually strengthen our connections to each other and join together to care for the greater community, Israel, and the world.


Shalom! Due to Covid-19, Our Building is closed  until further notice. Temple Israel is open but the office team is working remotely.

  • 2021/2022 Membership Renewal is upon us. You may go here:
  • New Opening Status: For all Shabbat services in person, whether they be indoors or outdoors vaccinations are required and we will ask for proof. Masks are required for all attendees 2 years old and older, as is social distancing. Attendees can send a copy of their vax status when they pre-register, or bring their card on Friday night. Registration by noon on Shabbat is required to attend in-person services. Please register here: Shabbat Services
  • Online Shabbat services: Shabbat service will also be on Zoom and Live-streamed on our private Facebook page TI Temple Talk for those who are uncomfortable or unable to attend in-person. Please note, you must be a member of the Facebook group in order to watch the live-stream (click here). Please email the office at for the Zoom link (click here). 
  • 100 Year Anniversary: we are hoping that this year, we can celebrate in person. Please keep checking the website for updates. With progress with vaccines and as we hear more from our State on Covid tier status, we are hoping that as 2021 moves along we will hear news that will allow some in person gathering (s). 
  • Online enrollment is available here for 2021/2022: Beit Bina Religious School
  • Weekly after Shabbat Services - Shabbat Onegs are a lovely Temple Israel tradition. Each member family is asked to continue to keep this tradition going by hosting at least one oneg per year.  Click here for more details or contact Alison Harris at or (510) 521-3375 to volunteer.
