The Membership Committee would like to welcome you to the Temple Israel family. We are pleased that you chose us as your community, and look forward to having you as contributing members. We hope that you will take an interest in the programs and projects available to you.

As you read ahead, consider what would be most meaningful to you in terms of your involvement and your needs at Temple Israel. If you have ideas or suggestions that are not addressed anywhere in this website, please feel free to contact any board member, committee chair or the Rabbi.

The Membership Committee is concerned with our community. Our goal is to increase and strengthen that community here at Temple Israel. We welcome your innovation and participation. Thank you again for choosing Temple Israel as a spiritual and social center for you and your family. We look forward to many good years together!

I want to thank everyone for making the past year so successful. We have had many events that have brought the Temple Israel community together -- in particular Shabbat Across America and our monthly pot luck Shabbat dinners. We have had a great turnout. The dinners have been an opportunity for us to get to know each other better. They are also a great way to share the Shabbat. Invite a new family in your neighborhood to share Shabbat with us and invite friends that you know who do not belong to a temple community.

And speaking of community, we have some members within our community who may not drive and have no way of coming to Temple on a regular basis. We would like to establish some kind of phone chain at the office to help these people out. If you or someone you know need assistance getting to Temple please call the office and let us know. If you would like to make yourself available to assist people in getting to Temple, also call the office and let us know. We will put a list together and make a match!

We are delighted to welcome new members to the Temple Israel family.  See the Temple Bulletin for their names, addresses, and phone numbers.  Please add them to your roster and be sure to introduce yourself to them when you are at the Temple.

We welcome these new members with open arms, and wish them a long and enjoyable relationship with our congregation.
