A drop-in free playgroup for infants and children age zero through 4 years with their parents, grandparents or caregivers. A great way to get out of the house and have fun with your child. Open to all regardless of religious identity. Great way to meet parents/grandparents with children of the same age. Enjoy "free play time" with a variety of toys, musical instruments, coloring stations, riding toys, balls, books, costumes and more for your Little Latke's discovery. Let's play together every 4th Thursday of the month, from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m., at Temple Israel, 3183 Mecartney Road, Alameda. For more info, write to LittleLatkes@mindspring.com.
A New Year’s Party in February? With a Seder?? Come see For Yourself on Feb. 8th…
Still in a party mood? Looking for yet another New Year’s celebration to join in on? How about one for trees? Throw in a special ‘Seder’ and you have Tu B’ Shvat - one of 4 actual Jewish “New Years” as described in the Mishnah.
As seen in last month’s bulletin* our TI Religious School has extended an open invitation for all members to join the students in a Tu B’ Shvat celebration on Wednesday, Feb. 8th, from 4-5 pm in our Social Hall. We will read from a special siddur, learn and sing songs, and (of course) eat & drink 4 courses of fruits and juices. There will also be a traditional tree planting ceremony in our courtyard.
If you can join us, please contact, Mindy, our Director of Congregational Learning, at mindy@noteniks.com to ensure we are prepared for all who attend. And we certainly can use volunteers for both set up and clean up – the more the merrier. Hope to see you there!
